By three methods may we learn wisdom:

First, by reflection,

which is noblest;

Second, by imitation,

which is the shallowest;

and third by experience,

which is the bitterest.


  1. I watched soft dancing reflections of sunlight and cottonwood leaves, outside, on the deck, as they graced our newly varnished oak table this afternoon — and was struck with the word: Reflection. And here you are, expressing it. Thank you :)) Dawn
